I posted this in baseball discussions as well but was interested in what people here thought.

Baseball needs two more teams so we can go to eight divisions of four teams each. Thus, you play one inter-league division one series each for 12 games, the 12 other teams in your league but not your division 9 times, and the teams in your division 18 times. no wildcards - each division winner gets in the playoffs.

Possible expansion possibilities:

Portland

Las Vegas

San Antonio/Austin

Charlotte

Memphis

Indianapolis

Memphis and Vegas would be great for baseball teams. And I don't like finishing 12 games out in your division and still being in the playoffs. Of course, with the teams playing different levels of competition a wildcard is probably a necessity.

The only concern would be the talent level. Is there enough major league talent to go around to 2 more teams? There's almost not enough for the 30 we have now.

I've made this argument several times. I very much feel that baseball should go to 32 teams.

And either ditch interleague play or get rid of the DH, either one.

both would be ok with me. at the least they should go to five team divisions in each league. and yes, it does work if you don't insist on all interleague being at the same time and trying to create intercity rivalries.
