Anyone have any interest in meeting for the game tomorrow night? From what I've seen, two of the major Cards posters live in Chicago, but anyone is welcome to join me at Flannery's downtown to watch the game.

Would like to meet Cubs fans there as well, although it'd be appreciated if Edmonds mascara comments were used moderately.

Feel free to PM me.

I'd appreciate it if Edmonds applied his mascara little more moderately.

 , so if Jimmy goes au naturel tonight, you'll be there?

Deal!

Actually, I will try and get down there, but it's all contingent on how much schoolwork I can get done before the game.

Wish I would have seen this thread sooner...I'd like to meet indifferent

Were you in St. Louis for the game last night, Gus?

I have to say I was very impressed logging on here this morning, no senseless gloating to be found, only analysis over why the Cards lost. I don't know how NSBB has managed to accumulate such a quality group of posters in an anonymous internet forum.

I hope to meet you and many others in Chicago next year.

No, but I had a chance to go. I hemmed and hawed about it, but I couldn't miss any more work, and had to decline my friend's offer of tix.

I agree.

Cubs fans here have been pretty cool about the whole thing.

We know how it feels to have your hopes and dreams crushed by a team you love... don't need to pile on when you're already feeling down. Plus I root for the Eagles and Flyers, so I've endured enough kicks in the nads to know not to mess with people who are disappointed enough.

By the way, ha ha you lost :P

It's kind of hard to gloat when you were 25 games out of first by July.

Sorry I missed you, indifferent. I ended up meeting some friends at Llewelyns to watch the game. Maybe we can all hook up for the WS, unless you guys are boycotting it. (I didn't watch one inning of the WS in '03).

Yeah. There was though an awesome troll at Cards talk going by BudweiserSUX I think. Classic stuff:

"By the way,

Will that TRANNY actually NOT wear makeup NOT pluck his eyebrows and eyelashes next year???? I kept wondering if that was Eva Longoria BEHIND the mask!!!!! Get a real catcher like Hector Villanueva!!!!!!!!!"

and about Pujols

"Give me an F****ing break, please. How about "EL MOJADO"??? Get the F*CK back to PR or the DR or wherever it was you migrated from, ese.

We'll always have Sammy Sosa and 70 HR's.....what do you have???? An 0-4 choker in Game 6.

Sorry, I wasn't supposed to say that. go "PHAT ALBERT"!!!! Bring that sh*t to Wrigley, Vato!!!"

and

"70. 60. Whatever. We should give him 85 compared to Mark McSteroid's Banner Season that year, just to make things even. How many WS games have you won recently??? waiting????

Northside ROX"

You know, it's too bad you couldn't get a community wide effort to ignore him. I think it would be hilarious to have that dude make a bunch of moronic responses like that, then have no one reply at all. Much more fun than typical bannination.

Snood, Dalgreen, and anyone else, what do you say to a weeknight WS game next week?

People usually try that, but many of the posters on cards talk aren't much more than trolls on their own forum, so they can't resist.

VA, do you post at birdsonthebats.com?

Yes, but very rarely. It's a little too anti-TLR for my taste, but the posters there know the game and they have some good conversations going. If I was a Tony hater or more of an armchair GM I'd feel right at home.
