Can you believe Reynolds had the cajones to say the only logical conclusion for Johnson getting lit up is he was tipping his pitches?

Did you really think he had the cajones to say that Johnson, a Yankee no less, just sucked tonight? Don't the Yankees pay Reynold's salary, along with the rest of ESPN??? :D

LaRussa and Duncan have had their share of pitch tipping accusations, but at least let it come from the coaches mouth first.

An announcer's pitch tipping accusation, classic  !

There's no way it could have been the fact that Johnson was throwing right down the middle of the plate belt high all night.

That's a bad call. I hate the Yanks, but gimme a break.

We only saw one replay of it from one angle. That was it.

And from what I saw, Cano's foot looked to be off the bag. But that's me.

What??? Cano was clearly off the bag because he was avoiding the slide into second.

I agree that he was off the bag (barely). He's safe by the rulebook, I can't argue that. But it really had no bearing on the play. SS do that all the time when turning the double play. The ump shouldn't be making a statement like that in a playoff game. That's just my opinion.

Honestly, what did you see that I didn't? He was clearly off the bag at 2nd. I don't buy this "well, the throw beat him so we'll give him the benefit of the doubt" stuff.

OK, we posted at the same time. I'm especially burned by it because it's the type of play a Yankee would have called in their favor. Heaven forbid, a Yank would get taken down by a hard slide into second.

Ya gotta feel for the players. The weather absolutely sucks out there right now with the wind and rain. If this weren't a playoff game, it would have been called hours ago.

haha. Yeah I understand that. I'm certainly not crying about it, I just think the ump shouldn't take such a prominent stance in the playoffs. Oh well, play's over. I'm still enjoying the 3 run lead. :)

edit: it's not like i enjoyed agreeing with Joe Morgan.

There's something to be said for a well-executed squeeze play.

The way St Louis employs it you might as well change it to the LaRussa.

Gotta love the Molinas. Knock one down and another one springs right up to take his place.

Molina's are strong breeding stock!

Personally, I think they're clones.
