It's very fitting, isn't it?

Dammit, I'm not supposed to get worked up over the Cubs on the last day of the season. This is not cool. It totally figures that baseball had the potential to have two one game tie breakers, and neither will probably occur, and in both cases the team I'd rather see in there will fall short

At least Neifi is hitting at the bottom of the lineup? /optimism

Phew. I'm glad Neifi was able to tough it out and play today. There's a wild card at stake.

Phillies are winning 4-0 now going into the bottom of the 5th. Too bad they have to rely on the Cubs to get into the playoffs.

Eh. They have no one to blame but themselves.

BTW...

Did anybody happen to catch the pre-game show? I tuned in and they were talking to a sportswriter who I believe was Paul Sullivan (not sure though, because I didn't get the name). Anyhow, Len asked him if Cedeno and Murton had any chance of making the team as starters next year. The guy replied that while Cedeno had probably earned a chance, Murton was still questionable because he's hitting only .250 against righties and is questionable in the field. I could feel the bile rising in my throat when I heard that.

I truly hope that this is just idle speculation on his part and is not the feeling he's getting from the orginization. While Murton may be only hitting .246 against righties, his OBP/SLG is a respectable .320/.477.
