Assuming Walker is done for the rest of the year, our middle infield is solidified by the bats (and gloves) of Neifi and Macias. I bet the Astros are disappointed they play us six more times. Imagine Patterson, Blanco, Perez, and Macias in one lineup (without Zambrano pitching because he has a higher SLG than some of them).

You mean the Fontenot with the .807 OPS in Iowa? Forgot about him.

the only problem is that he might be too cold to come back and play baseball, he's probably hasn't done any baseball stuff for 3 weeks.

Wait. What happened to Walker?

I believe he's checked himself into a mental facility for depression from batting directly behind Neifi Perez day after day. :P

Didn't we win today?

I don't know. Did we? Until Neifi is hitting at the bottom of the order where he belongs, I'm not watching.

Yes, we won.

In that case Cliff Bartosh has the OBP, AVG, and SLG titles locked (1.000 in all 3 categories).

.807 isn't bad for a middle in-fielder, and he can at least put up a good OBP.

Pfft. Just a knee bruise? He's fine.

But send him home anyway. Give him an early vacation from the disaster known as the 2005 season. He deserves it.

it scared me when he was injured - looked serious. finally something goes our way this season...err, sort of. :? :D

Is Hairston still on this team? It seems to me that Baker has 4 options:

1. Hairston leads off with Murton 2nd. That's what most sane people would do but since Baker is still the manager....

2. Hairston leads off with Perez batting 2nd. If this doesn't happen then I'd say Hairston has played his last game as a Cub

3. Macias Leads off and Perez bats 2nd. Frightening, especially since it could actually happen

4. Perez leads off with Macias 2nd. The worst possible option and sadly the most likely to be used by Baker.

I realize that these games don't really mean anything but I hate to see the Cubs lose with these clowns on the field.

This team frustrates me too much. I havent watched a game in two weeks. Before that it had been a month. I dont care anymore. I'm just gonna sit back and wait for next year... :x
