CUBS head up to Wrigley Field North for a series with them pesky Brewers....

Worthless stats of the day......

 

CUBS are 15-7 on Tuesdays

CUBS are 6-7 vs. Milwaukee

CUBS are 36-35 at night.

CUBS are 38-36 on the road.

CUBS are 22-25 in games that open a series

CUBS are 7-4 in games openning a road trip

CUBS are 39-34 when they've won the previous game.... 33-42 after a loss

CUBS are 19-32 when the temperature is in the 70's

If they're both batting 1-2, I'd rather Walker hit 2nd. If Walker leads off and gets a hit, there's a good chance that Neifi will hit into a DP. This way, he can only make one out!

Not to take anything away from Neifi's double, but my lord was that a HORRIBLE swing.

 

He takes his eye off the ball and throws his bat at it. Isee this from him ALL the time. How does he keep getting hits like this?

He doesn't.

 

Usually, he tries to bunt the first 2 pitches, but fails. He ends up down 0-2 and swings at the next pitch which he usually pops up. It looks awful, but Dusty loves it.

I understand he has had a truly dismal season when looking at the important statistics, but even to have a batting average above .270 with this approach at the plate is a complete miracle.

 

Even his grand slam swing in St. Louis looked like he closed his eyes and prayed.
