Manny's having a bad year in comparison to his norm. Still good numbers though.

manny ortiz is the best combo in baseball. im hoping dlee and aramis reach that level one day but not sure if it'll ever happen.

they both are 40-140 guys. yikes. id be content with 35/120 here in chicago.

Papi and Manny get so many RBI's b/c unlike our 1-2 hitters, their 1-2 hitters get on base.

Ortiz is the DH though. If he had to play the field every day in the NL, that might take a toll on him by the end of the season. His numbers could drop off.

I think Lee and Aramis could get there in the near future. It would help if their was a supporting cast of hitters in the lineup. Boston has a good hitting team. Pitching around Manny or Papi can result in getting hurt by others in the lineup.

Uh, Ramirez may not quite be there with his .302/.358/.568/.926 line, but the combination with Lee's 1.110 OPS has been better than Manny/Ortiz.

I certainly wouldn't call it a bad year in comparison for Manny at all. He's going to end up only slightly below his yearly averages for almost all offensive categories from the looks of it. His average has been on the rise in the 2nd half and he's well on the way to moving it above .300 before the end of September.

Ortiz is a real quality bat in that lineup, but you have to wonder how well he will/would do if Manny wasn't behind him in the lineup. Perhaps we'll find out next year.
