Bobby Dickerson isn't with the Jaxx today. He had to leave and take care of some things in regards to the hurricane. Best wishes to Coach and everyone that may be in harm's way.

Eric will start at 2nd in Game 2, wearing number 2!

you're in for a treat. Great talent and an even better individual.

I can't wait to meet him and call the game with Ron tomorrow! I'll be sure to send your best wishes to Eric. All of the guys here that have been with the Chiefs have nothing but great things to say about you!

I missed it, but Eric's sac fly in the third inning with Reyes on third and one away tied the game at 1.

Greenberg robs Patchett with an amazing diving catch in right-center for the second out of the inning. The opposing pitcher then just misses a long ball with two outs and Eric prolongs the inning by throwing high to first after gloving a routine grounder.

O'Malley with an error on a bunt attempt for a hit and the Jaxx now trail 2-1.

Great performance by Gallagher. 7 1/3 IP 3 H 0 R 1 BB 8 K And he got the win!

Excellent! :D

His ERA is to 2.71. Andrew Sonnanstine is the MWL's ERA leader at 2.55 (he's been promoted, but he still qualifies). Gallagher has one more regular season start; even if he were to throw a CG shutout, he'd finish the season at 2.56.

This sounds like a heck of a play from the first inning today:

Nick McIntyre triples (2) on a fly ball to right fielder Ryan Harvey. Nick McIntyre out at home, right fielder Ryan Harvey to catcher Oscar Bernard.

Sam Fuld went 2-4 and officially gets his avg to .300.

The opposing starter, Lucas French, had 5 wild pitches in 5 innings!

Ryan Ori in the Peoria Journal Star[/url]"]

The Peoria right-hander got a lift when the second batter of the game, McIntyre, unsucessfully tried for an inside-the-park home run. McIntyre's deep drive to right-center hit high off the brick part of the wall. As center fielder Sam Fuld pursued the ball, it ricocheted back over his head toward the infield.

As McIntyre rounded third, Peoria right fielder Ryan Harvey retrieved the ball and uncorked a long, one-hop throw that beat McIntyre's slide at the plate.

"It's something you've got to go for," McIntyre said. "You never know how many chances you're going to get to jump out to an early lead. Gallagher is one of the best pitchers."

Said Gallagher: "With Harvey's arm, I'm surprised they sent him. He saved a run and saved me some pitches. It gave me a confidence boost."

Peoria starter Sean Gallagher took advantage of the early break to throw 71/3 scoreless innings as the Chiefs beat the Whitecaps 4-1. It was the longest outing of the second-year pro's career.
