He seems like a good guy, and this horrible team doesnt deserve him.

Or, you could go with the Kerry Wood theory. Trade Zambrano, if he's so good, how come he only has 10 wins?

He takes himself out of games whenever he is losing and he hits batters intentionally everytime he gives up a key HR

So, right.

That'd be a horrible idea. Wood is all but gone, and your rotation isn't as gleaming as it once was. Given, Z has an incredible trade value, but I just don't think it is the time, or worth it.

Kerry Wood is not "all but gone." He has a bummed shoulder, and is having surgery at the end of the year. Going into next year, we will have Prior, Wood, and Zambrano 1-2-3 in the rotation for the first time since 2003. If we can sign a decent 5th starter to compliment Maddux, or give the job to Rich Hill or Angel Guzman (which will never happen as long as Dusty is running the show), we will once again have an elite pitching staff. Have you seen Kerry pitch lately? He has looked terrific.

Every year you are 'supposed' to have these allmighty starters to complete your almighty rotation, and then somehow an injury comes up (usually Prior or Wood) to take it all downhill.

Don't get me wrong, I wish you luck, but I guess I'm not as optimistic.

Yea, but no baseball team can be unlucky enough to have them be injured 3 years in a row. We are due for a lucky season next year. (I tell myself that at night after every crushing defeat. It helps me sleep.)

Oh, and Welcome to NSBB!!

I think one of the mods is supposed to be the one to say that, but oh well.

Most baseball teams wouldn't be unlucky enough to have them all healthy, and then lose with your top 3 back to-back-to back either.

Funny how things work out sometimes. Anyway, I still root for the cubs. Unless by some miracle they would meet the Indians in the WS.

I hear Matt Morris is a FA at the end of the year.............he's a drama queen, but at least it would hurt the Cards!

Just say NO!!!!! to Matt Morris. (besides, he and Prior don't/won't get along)

Somehow I don't see this happening in any of our lifetimes. But welcome to the boards.

Other team's fans like to mention that Prior can't stay healthy. And then they fault either our coaching staff, or make a sarcastic remark about his "perfect mechanics". But they also fail to realize that Prior's injuries have not been pitching related. He was hit with a line drive bullet this year, and he was injured running the bases when he ran into Giles. Wood is the only one with injury problems. Prior just has bad luck.

I think Prior and Morris woud kill each other if they were locked in the same clubhouse. My money is on Prior.

Boy, I am glad there is another optomist here, I know they'll come back and win in 06...Ok that is if they can rebuild the pen and get some consistant offense, as well as learn fundementals of fielding so they aren't one of the top teams in errors.

Can we officially drag out the Wait till next year motto yet?

But, then what happens to Dusty's 2005 motto, "No Worries"?

The Cubs must be leading the league in unrealized mottos by now.
