Hard to complain about his offense (something like 30 rbi in 30 games)

BUT, damn--with a little D at third today the cards score two less runs.

I have NOT been one to complain about his hustle down the line, bc I do believe that his leg problems are enough to justify him being "lazy." The last thing this team needs is to lose ARam from him trying to leg out an IF single.

But today it seemed he was a little lazy in the field.

Anyone agree?

Completely agree. I love his offensive production, but am often turned off by his lazyness. I try to overlook it because he is a bright spot within a team of underachievers.

He has the talent to be good a good defensive player, but he is lazy...or he thinks it's too cool to look like your trying...

I think it would have been awfully hard to double up Mark Grudzielanek with a 5-4-3 double play, so that one's hard to argue.

On the other hand, his throw to first in the seventh...

I would like to see Aram change his fitness program in the offseason. He's not as chiseled as a lot of power hitters and he could probably do with harder workouts. He really needs to find a way to keep limber. Stretching, massage, yoga, accupuncture, whatever it takes to prevent all these nagging muscle tweaks that keep slowing him down.

Maybe I am mistaken, but weren't they both of the 5-3 variety? It seemed to me that with a good throw and some hustle, both would have been double plays.

I am not trying to stir this up, like I am a hater. It just seems that too many times it is the little things that the Cubs SEEM TO never do.

I love ARAM, but it does seem like he phones it in sometimes. I agree with frostwyrm, maybe a new fitness program in the offseason. Or a new manager that tells him that he better hustle (although, I know he's hurt right now...but then again, it seems like he always hurt). I want to think he's not lazy, but over and over again it appears that he is.

Well, he's apparently playing hurt and has to take it easy less he really screw himself over.

Of course, what needs to happen is a 15 day stint on the DL so he can heal, but that's REALLY giving up on the season. Which, at this point, whatever.

Aram seems soft, fragile, not properly conditioned. Sometimes he seems unfocused and plain lazy.

He's a terrific hitter, no question, very clutch, but he needs to raise his game to a truly elite level because he has the ability.

Someone that he believes needs to grab his ear and remind him of what he can be before he loses the respect of his peers and others in baseball who definitely notice these things.
