I don't blame anyone for being pessamistic when it comes to this team and injuries. But I think it's a little far fetched to view the doctors attached to the Cubs as incompetent. I also don't think management would put Kerry in the position of doing more damage to himself. I think they have been very restrained this year. They have not given out timetables for players comming back from injury until it was clear that they were ready to make a rehab assignment. And they have not rushed anyone back.

They'd be nuts to risk their 12.5 million investment just to get a few innings from him a week. It sounds like Hendry has went to various specialists, so all should be fine.

"Let's hope so because Wade Miller, Matt Morris, and Joe Borowski all lost at least 2mph from their fastball."

I don't know what JoBo's velocity right now is. And he wasn't much this season with the Cubs. But he's tearing it up in Tampa. Here's his numbers so far:

15.1 innings, 6 hits, 4 BB, 7 K, 0 runs allowed, Opp BA .120

Had he pitched even remotely close to this with the Cubs, he'd still be on the roster. Hindsight is 20/20.
