Nomar, Wood, and Williamson reinstated

Harrison to 15 Day DL

Mitre to AAA

Remmy DFA

I posted this in the other Remmy thread, but worth re-mentioning. This is absolutely hilarious to me that Cubs.com is pointing out Remmy's mis-use.

Remlinger was 0-3 with a 4.91 ERA in 35 games for the Cubs - and had held right-handed batters to a .210 batting average. The left-hander was on the disabled list May 21-June 5 with a non-displaced distal phalanx fracture in the fifth finger on his left hand

How bad is that? He might have helped had he been used right.

I'm glad we still have 12 pitchers on the team. It's extremely important to have as many pitchers on the team as possible. :wall:

I hope Mike likes NY

I'd be willing to bet he didn't go to NY with the team (just a guess). They probably let he and Mitre know the team's intentions yesterday following the game. I dont see any team paying travel expenses for a player soon to be designated for assignment.

I think he was referring to the Yankees picking him up.

Horrible as it sounds, I was hoping for CPatt to get called back up today so that we could at least keep Macias out of center field.

We could try Burny in Center and Murton and Lawton on the corners. Burny played center most of the year for Colorado when Preston was injured.

Ah, ok that makes more sense considering the Yankees have becomes Baseball's depository of formerly good pitchers...

I wonder how long Jeff Fassero will be in San Fran? :D

Just to clear things up, I didn mean the Yankees. But they may be done picking up every DFA'd pitcher they can get their hands on. Maybe he can go to Tampa Bay and him and Joe can make the Cubs look stupid together.

Tonight's projected lineup:

lawton

macias

lee

burnitz

aram

nomar

walker

barrett

](*,) ](*,) ](*,)

Where are people getting these projected line-ups? Is there some website somewhere that is guessing who is going to play and in what order they are going to bat or did AAApittsburgh just make this one up him/herself?

Whoever it was was waaayyyy off. I guess Dusty isn't as stupid as somebody thought he was. All those smilies were ramming their head into the brick wall for nothing today.

I am confused by the decision to leave Cedeno on the roster with a healthy Nomar and Neifi.

I agree completely. If we thought he didn't see the field when Nomar wasn't on the roster, we haven't seen anything yet. I can't see any situations where Cedeno would start. Nomar will start 5 out of 7 games and Neifi will spell him the other two, just like Saturday's day game after night game.

The only times Ronnie will see any chances will be as a pinch hitter and I can't imagine Dusty would use him in a big spot. Holla will finally return to his rightful spot as a pinch hitter. Now that Macias is following in the footsteps of Willie Mays by starting in CF everyday, he won't be able to pinch hit anymore. Poor Ronnie will have to fit with Murton to see who will be the last man off the bench.

well Apparently it is being reported (by Levine) that Remmy is headed to Boston for a minor league pitcher.

Also the 40 Man roster on Cubs.com still has 41 people listed. How long can it be that way? When will we discover who was outrighted?

THe Cubs.Com 40 man roster shows Cliff Bartosh. He was outrighted to Iowa when Jerome Williams was brought up, so he should not be on the 40 man roster.

Date Transaction

6/21/05 Recalled RHP Jerome Williams from Triple-A Iowa and outrighted LHP Cliff Bartosh to Iowa.
