Nomar hit the ball hard in his first at-bat, but flies out to the warning track in RF for an out.

Nomar with a basehit to LF in his 2nd at-bat to lead off the bottom of the 4th inning. D'Jaxx down 2-0.

And Nomar gets stranded at second after a great leaping catch at the wall by Tony Gwynn Junior that takes away extra bases from Sisk.

Nomar hits the ball hard again in probably his last at-bat with the D'Jaxx. He hit the ball to the RF wall but the right fielder catches it just before slamming into the wall. Ron says he hitting the ball really hard and he's ready to play for the Cubs. :D

And Nomar's out of the game in the top of the 7th. 3-13 with the D'Jaxx, but he had a ton of really hard hit balls.

See you in NYC on Friday Nomar!!!

Not that Ron gets to make that call.

Nomar now out of the game.

Get him on a plane to rejoin the Cubs. :D

JAXX win 3-2 after a 1-2-3 8 pitch eighth by Aardsma and a 1-2-3 9 pitch ninth by Shipman.

Good to see, even though against AA pitching, Nomar hitting the ball hard. He was not getting good swings before the injury during his slump.

Great game today in Jackson, too bad nobody was there to see it. I'll have pictures up later.

Andy Shipman looked great in the 9th, getting 2 K's to start the ninth and a grounder to end it. I made it a point to praise him after the game for a great save.

Carlos Marmol rules! I'm gonna have a hard time keeping him out of the top 10 if he keeps this up. Wonder what the Cubs will do about putting him on the 40-man.

BTW, I haven't seen much discussion about it, but I like Buck Coats in CF. He started his Cub career as a corner OF, but I think he could be a solid player in CF, as it looks like SS is too much for him defensively.

Marmol had his moments but there seemed to be a communication breakdown somewhere. Casey went and talked to him more than once.

Greenberg came up big in the bottom of the 8th. Adam was thinking triple the whole way! Adam is all about the hustle!

Anyone remember who we gave up for Shipman? I know he is in a trade to the Cubs.

We acquired him from Boston with a PTBNL for Jimmy Anderson.

Shipman has indeed been impressive. In 51 IP, he has yet to allow a home run. Opponents are hitting just .230 of of him. He's k'ing a lot of batters, and he's allowed a lot less hits than the number of innings he has pitched. Anyone have a scouting report on him? How hard does he throw? How many pitches does he have?

Should it tell us something that Aardsma is being used as a set up man for Shipman?

BTW, just looked at Pinto's numbers again. I'd like to see him get another shot at Triple A soon. His numbers are just so good.

Thanks, not a bad return for very little.

Eric with a walk and HR (his 10th of the year)!

Fuld doubled and scored on an error in the first.

A broken bat single followed by a HR by David Castillo ties the KaneCo - Peoria game at 2 in the 5th. 8th HR of the year allowed by Estrada. Castillo sat out earlier this season for his 3rd minor league steroids policy violation.

Other than the HR, a line out and a K, Estrada has induced all groundouts.

Let me go on the record as saying that Andy Shipman is a class act and a great person. I told Andy how his Q & A session is going and he is looking forward to taking the questions and comments. If you have not yet sent your questions and/or comments to the Jaxx you have until Friday!

Good to hear, DJaxx! :D

A solo shot by Javier Herrera puts the Cougars up 3-2.

Bottom of the 6th - Eric Patterson walks in a 10-pitch AB (first walk was a 9-pitch effort), steals 2B and advances to third on a wild pitch. One out. Jesse Schmidt get the sac-fly.

3-3 in the bottom of the 6th.
