CUBS are 42-16 when they get a quality start,... 11-36 when they don't

Wow. So I guess you're saying pitching really does matter....

When you have an offense like Cubs do, yes.. a pitcher REALLY matters..

Especially on a system built around starting pitching.

Big series. Philly is right ahead of us in the WC race. Padilla is very hittable this year. Win, cobs.

True. He is hittible. He is also 5-9 with 5.45 ERA. Or in other words, he will own the Cubs.

Holly is due, dude!

Thankfully Hollandsworthless DOES have crappy career numbers vs. Padilla or we might have seen Lawton on the bench in his first game as a Cub (oh, like Gerut did for all but 1 or 2 of his games). Dusty is a Moran, I wouldn't have bet against that kind of idiocy.

Good afternoon everyone.........well, what a huge roadtrip we are starting off tonight. I think 4 of 6 is a must. We simply need to start making some hay and we keep talking about this team taking off and this should be the spark and that should be the spark, but honestly, the time is now. We have the pitching advantage in virtually every game this roadtrip, so..........

well, anyways, hard to have a 4-2 trip if you don't take game #1 so this is a pretty big one tonight with Z on the hill. Let's get it done!

It was nice knowing you Murton.

:(

With Padilla,Tejada & Myers going for the Phils in this series I don't expect Dusty to start Murton. We shall see. He has been the Cubs best hitter the last week or so.

Remember when Hairston's on-base-percentage was over .370? That was sweet.

JHJR better have a good week or he may be relegated back to the bench with either Murton or CPatt taking over an OF spot.

Interesting lineup. I'd really like to see Murton in there, but I guess he doesn't fit.

Another interesting note is moving Walker down in the lineup to favor Hairston. Maybe Todd could regain some of his hitting magic down there.

Nice knowing you Matt Murton.

Otherwise, it's not that bad of a lineup, but I'd rather see Walker hitting 2nd and Hairston batting 7th with Barrett 6th.

3 Words: DUSTY BAKER SUCKS.

How can he not start Murton? Oh, that's right, he's a rookie. And all rookies are bad, right Dusty?

Where would you put him? In center? Lawton on the bench? Padilla is a righty, and at least Holly isn't playing.

He could start Burnitz in CF and Lawton in RF, but that would make him play a rookie and rookies are bad.
