The White Sox need a dependable SS.

Nomar is coming back in the next week.

Ronnie Cedeno is the SS for 2006.

Trade Neifi(while he has value) to the White Sox for one of their stud AA OF.

wishful thinking, but it will never happen. Seriously, I know the move isnt up to dusty, but dusty loves him and it will not happen.

Come on. If you were Kenny Williams would you give up a "stud" AA player for Neifi Perez? I'm all for making trade proposals, but at least make it realistic.

He hasn't had value since the middle of May. You couldn't get a stud Rookie leaguer for him right now. Kenny doesn't have to look far to see that Neifi sucks.

It's very realistic. The Sox have a hole at SS and considering the other SS they might deal for, Neifi is their best option. If you read the Chicago papers, the Sox have no 'untradeable position players in the minors'.

I'd like to see Perez go to the White Sox too, very good idea but I don't know what the Sox would give up for him. If Nomar can play 75% of the games I'm fine with Cedeno playing the other 25%.

I don't think it is.

Just because they say they have no untouchable prospects, doesn't mean they're going to give up a top 10 prospect for a part-time player and defensive replacement.

That would be like thinking it was realistic for the Cubs to trade Brian Dopirak for Desi Relaford, simply because the paper's reported that none of our prospects were untouchable.

Um....these are the White Sox we're talking about. The GM traded for a washed-up Robbie Alomar not once, but twice. Heck yeah we can get him to take Neifi. I'll take Bobby Jenks in return.

Not for a top prospect and Alomar still had the chance to be much better than Neifi.

Come on, be realistic.

I don't know Don....which Chicago team is in first place again? :D

I think Neifi has value for exactly the reason we signed him in the first place--a very good infielder who can hit well above the Mendoza line. He's not trade bait as a starter, but for someone looking to add depth to their bench, he has some value.

I really really doubt Neifi will be traded, but the Nationals are a perfect fit. 1. Cristian Guzman is the worst player in baseball and 2. Jim Bowden is an idiot.

Wilkerson for Perez would work out well.

That's what I'm thinking.

Seriously guys, this is Kenny "HOLY MOLEY FLEECE THE HELL OUT OF ME! OOOH YEAAAAH!" Williams, I don't think it would be too hard to sell him on a "gold glove caliber defender who will provide near league average production at shortstop". Just TRY to say it with a straight face

Dusty could say it with conviction.

As much as I hate to say it, we still need Neifi as a backup if Nomar comes back simply because of Nomar's injury history. If Nomar gets injurred again, then Cedeno can take over, but we wont have a back up for him at that point.

I'd take CURTIS Wilkerson for Perez.
