Will the umps allow the game to start at 10p local time?

Looks like it may be then, if not even then, before this thing will get started.

NL has no curfew, so it's entirely up to the Cubs.

We've had issues over start times with SF in the past. Is McGowan in the park tonight?

Bruce, what's with the Neifi love?

We under appreciate Neifi. He's a career sub who has filled in admirably. Let's not have short memories, Neifi and DLee were carrying the offense when Aramis and Corey were automatic outs early in the season.

Its nearly three in the morning, man! I wish I knew either way now.

Geez, you Neifi haters never give up. Best backup infielder in baseball this year, without him, Oh heck what's the use-you guys all know better and hate him.

Without going into the same debate again, I'll have to strongly disagree. Neifi did well in April, but he's regressed to his career numbers, which I don't want on the roster at all.

The start time is up to the home team until the lineup cards have been given to the umpire (crew chief). They literally have no boundaries other than good sense.

Without looking it up I will disagree. I saw a graphic during the ESPN game that said he went in a slump in early June. Again, he's a career .269 (?) hitter who provided months of .300+ hitting. Under the circumstances you have to be pleasantly surprised. The Cubs were expecting Nomar to hit over .300 for the greater part of the year.

So, being the masochist I am... how's this scenario??

Cubs allow the game to start at 10p, for whatever reason, it goes 3+ hours AND goes to at least 12 innings in extras.

Who feels like staying up past 2am(CST) tonight!?

That brought back great memories.

I'd never seen that clip of Dawson toasting with his honey ... that was awesome.

Too late, man. But I'm still really looking forward to the game, should it go ahead.

 Cubs officials would be walking around the park at 2:30a, saying "wake up, everyone! game's over."

Nope, actually 50 points better in OPS, but he's been deemed not good enough to be on a major league roster at that level of production. Yet Neifi has praise heaped upon him for being worse since his hot start. I should have clarified though, I was referring to infielders when I asked who was worse, since you claimed he was the best reserve.

The argument defending Neifi is nonsense...

It doesn't matter that he had a good month or two! In the months he was complete garbage he hurt us just as much (if not more) as he helped us in the months he was good. What it all boils down to is .265/.286/.378 for the season, which is below his career averages and is horrid.

Numbers like that are a detriment to an offense, no matter how much you try to put a spin on it. You can't overlook the time he has sucked just like you can't overlook the time he was out-of-his-mind HOT..

EDIT - in response to the best backup infielder comment... On the Cubs alone, I wouldn't put it past Ronny Cedeno to perform better than Neifi Perez.

This one will probably be cancelled, right? I can't see them playing this late.

Waited this long, might as well play it.
