David Brandt of the Jackson Sun provides us with our Diamond Jaxx stat of the day:

The Jaxx didn't put together much offense on Wednesday but are almost unbeatable when they do. They're 48-6 when scoring more than four runs in a game.

How Much longer will Pinto be with the Jaxx? The rest of the season? It is too bad about his performance in Iowa this season. I really thought he was going to surpass Mitre and be the spot starter of choice this season and actually stick next year ala Big Z.

I am considering driving to the game but Oneri isn't there and I haven't had a confirmation that Vince Coleman is still there. Besides, I was able to secure another Q & A that will be announced before the day is over...

Cool, thanks for all the effort DJAXX.

Not a problem!

In regards to the session, the latest addition to the Q & A threads is up and running! This thread is a Q & A with Jaxx pitching coach Alan Dunn! If you would like to send a question or comment to Alan, please take time to do so in his thread. In addition, be sure to send your questions and comments to Jeff Parker and Ribbee in their Q & A threads!

FWIW I won't be making the game tonight. My wife just got a teaching job ( =D> ) and I'm going to help her set up her classroom. In addition I have/had a phone interview scheduled before the Iowa game. Hopefully it didn't fall through

Tennessee working hard to avoid a 5 game sweep. Jaxx down 4-0 as they go to the bottom of the 8th. It's time for Aunt Florence to open her window!

A guy dressed as a bee just ran out on the field in Jackson. It sounds like it didn't take Security long to get him!

Grant had a nice game. 5.2 IP, 2 hits, 1 run, 2 walks, and 4 strikeouts.

Daytona's game was suspended in the 6th in a scoreless tie due to power issues.

The shutout was only the third time the Jaxx have been victims of the shutout.

In regards to the interview with Rich Hill it didn't happen. When I talked with the folks in Iowa earlier in the day they told me that things have been busy with CPatt there. With that being said, our scheduled sessions were pushed back, which I completely understand. Our sessions will take place as soon as possible.

Recap from Bo on the Daytona game:

LIGHTING PROBLEM HALTS THURSDAY’S GAME IN BREVARD COUNTY

An Unlit Light Bank At Space Coast Stadium Forced The Postponement Game 2 With The Score Tied 0-0 In The Sixth

By Bo Fulginiti

VIERA, Fla—Although most Cubs fans were hoping that starter Randy Wells would turn in a “lights out” pitching performance in Brevard County on Thursday, they should be a little more careful what they wish for.

In the midst of a scoreless ballgame in Game 2 of a four-game set, Wells shutdown the Manatees attack for five full innings and was about to toe the rubber for the sixth when a light tower malfunctioned and caused the postponement of the contest until Friday night.

The light bank located down the third baseline was not lit, and after both managers deliberated with the umpires they decided to call the game due to unsafe conditions.

The remainder of the game will be made up on Friday at 5:00 p.m. EST in the bottom half of the sixth with the score still tied 0-0, followed by a regularly scheduled game to be played in its entirety a half hour after the final pitch of the first contest.

Grant had a nice game. 5.2 IP, 2 hits, 1 run, 2 walks, and 4 strikeouts.

He had them hitless through 4, then gave up the one run in the 5th on a one-out double, followed later by a two-out infield single. Not bad! Too bad that bullpen troubles continue for Peoria.
