I need to know because I really want to do match-ups for the game (every pitcher in the game.)

Halladay took a come backer of his shin, so he is now questionable for the game. I think Clemens might get the NL nod, and Buehrle for the AL.

I think it should be Carpenter, and that is not just the Cardinals homer in my talking. Clemens has started enough all-star games, and we all saw what happened the last time he had Piazza catching him.

Willis is deserving, but Carpenter is equally deserving.

Neither one of them is hotter than Carpenter right now. His stats from June and his two starts in July are amazing.

For some reason the national media seems dead set on starting Clemens or Willis. But for the past month-plus Carpenter has been better than both of them.

Regardless of who starts for the AL, I hope Clement is added to the roster if Halladay pulls out.

He better.. or else..

francona has said that clement would be added if halladay doesn't participate.

clemens deserves it way more than carpenter. who cares if he's "started enough" - you shouldn't hold being good against him (and this is coming from someone who does not like clemens at all).

the al starter should be halladay, but it's looking more and more like buehrle now.

But what decides it is the entire first half. Willis and Carp are about dead even after tonight's game, but you have to go with Clemens. I don't care for the guy at all, but his 0.95 WHIP, .187 BAA and 1.48 ERA smoke both Carp and Dontrelle. If he were playing for a team that scored runs, he'd have won 15 or 16 games by now.

How many ASG starts he's had in the past is irrelevant. He is simply the best SP in the NL.

Around the Horn stated that LaRussa has said he wants to start Carpenter over Willis and Clemens. Take it for what it's worth.

That wouldn't surprise me, but Willis or Clemens should be the starter. I'd go with Dontrelle.

During the Cards game their ridiculously biased words echoed that it comes down to either Carpenter or Willis, without question, and that Carpenter should be given the nod.

I get angry listening to those no-talent hacks talk about anything baseball related.

Have they droned on about what a travesty it is that Derrek Lee is the starter at firstbase?

To be honest, I don't think they've said a word about that since the announcement was made.

They have however gone on about how well represented the Cardinals are in sending 6 players to the ASG.
