Corey would've had that

That's debateable, I wonder if Dusty would have had Corey playing in. If so, I don't think Corey would have caught it.

And if Corey caught it, sure, the go-ahead run would score, but that's better than being down 2.

We're getting swept by the Expos?!?!

And they are without Jose Vidro and Nick Johnson.

not to mention we faced a pitcher yesterday that hadn't won on the road since 03 i believe and shutout through 8 innings today against Ryan Drese.

They are also the best team we have played recently. Complain all you want but they are a good team.

Jon, now tell me again how slipping a guy with a .381 OBP in ahead of Ramirez is gonna statistically lower his chances to drive in more runs, eh?

Because Derrek Lee's OBP is .457.

.... and he leads the world in home runs, no ?

1 every 12 ABs, yes. But what about the other 11? If you were to take HRs out of the equation, Lee's OBP is still going to be higher than Burny's.

Lee & Burnitz combined get on base more than Lee alone, don't they ???

It's RBI potential vs. OBP potential. More than likely, Burnitz is going to make an out. I'll take my chances with Ramirez behind Lee's OBP with a better chance to drive him in than trying to get both on, especially with OBP guys batting 1-2. Burnitz batting 4th just makes it less likely that Ramirez would come up with the top of the order guys on.

And a .382 OBP for June isn't the largest sample size. He put up an OBP .101 points lower in May.

seriously, this game can't be good for chemistry / morale.

Cory is going to say something about Todd's screw up. It's human nature.

Honestly, I doubt Corey will - he seems too quiet a guy.

C'mon, Serge..

Nah, we already tied it up against one of the best closers in the game. Now some middle reliever joker with a 6ERA is going to get the save with 5 pitches.

I'm a real quiet guy and I think I'd be pissed enough to make a smart elleck comment.

I sure hope he doesn't say anything.

I hope he ends up saying "nice game tying homer, Todd!"
