In sundays Trib Phil Rogers says that the Cubs are high on Burnetts personal wish list this offseason which includes the Orioles, Yankees, Red Sox, Blue Jays, Rangers, Angels. Sounds like Burnett's list just includes teams with the payroll to give him the 10 million a season he's looking for.

I donno why he would want to play for the blue jays lol

10 million in Toronto gets you more than it does in New York, Chicago.

Outside of the Cubs and Angels, the rest of those teams, with maybe the exception of Toronto, are really in need of starting pitching, especially the O's and the Yanks. The Cubs, I feel, shouldn't waste money on Burnett, as the O's and Yanks are going to be seriously going after him i nthe offseason, and will really drive up his price.

now, if we were to trade for Burnett and resign him easily, thats awesome, depending on the trade.

If the trade rumors are true, I wonder if the supposed AL team he'll end up with manages to re-sign him during the season?

I'd really like to have Burnett aboard with the Cubs, especially considering the injury problems that always seem to come about. Having a rotation of Prior-Zambrano-Wood-Burnett-Maddux would be just terrific, imo.

Couldn't Burnett just add to those injury problems though?

Potentially, yes. But hey, the more the merrier.

Worst comes to worst, Burnett, Wood, and Prior could all build blanket and pillow forts in the clubhouse together. :D
