It's fun having young hitters to be excited about... it's not 2014 with Bryant and Baez and the like, but it's fun to see Hartshorn performing like this at such a young age

Man if Hartshorn keeps doing at SB what he did at Myrtle you're talking about a guy that's probably a top 20-30 global prospect.  Fun stuff

They've already proven to be aggressive, if he has another good month and a half he might end the year in Knox

Yeah, the promotion to South Bend set him up to be on track to be at AA in August.

If Hartshorn makes AA good lord.  As far as I can tell Jesus Made (a top 5 league-wide prospect) is the only guy younger than him at AA.

I wonder how many dongs they can get Southisene up to without breaking him because even just like 5 a year would be plenty with the rest of his profile

Ooo, might have to watch his innings later. Assume the changeup was really good

Yeah he had 2nd and 3rd with one out in the fifth and threw some nasty ones to get Ks #8 and #9

Speaking of guys who could use the bump up Dom Reid struck out 9 in five innings

Lot of 92s and 93s which is disappointing but the change is too good for the Carolina League.

Under Breslow the progression on pitcher development was explicitly laid out as

Velo -> Shape -> Command

Maybe with e.g. Will Sanders not getting his velo bump until he got to AAA that's not such a rigid progression under Zombro?  If Reid wants to wait until he gets to Iowa before he goes from 92 to 94 I guess I'll let it slide.
