Blaming increased Illinois wagering taxes, DraftKings is shutting down its two-year-old retail sportsbook at Wrigley Field, a high-profile but small part of its business.

I can't imagine that Wrigley location staying open as just a sports bar with its current layout.  It has a lot of TV's, but all the personality of an infield tarp.  There is no reason anyone would go there over any of the other neighborhood bars.

So what's next for that space?

Maybe they can sell fentanyl and Onlyfans subscriptions there?

99% of bets are placed on cell phones anyway.  This never made any sense to offer in person betting.

They will probably remain open for awhile.  Then another bar/restaurant will open in its place
