Being reading and hearing Seth Jones and Bowen Byram in the same sentence. Don't think Byram can be as worthless and bad as Jones but, to be already mentioned in such comparisons is concerning.

Still don't know why Jones turned into a pumpkin the second he left Columbus, especially considering he begged off the Blue Jackets to begin with

Yeah, I didn't get the lack of effort and just flat out dogging it.

Maybe he thought Columbus was bad but then realized the problem was him, not the team? Chicago not any better for him?

Seth Jones was and is fine.

the problem was trying to make him the savior of a dying dynasty and then him being on a compete dumpster fire of a team

Which very well could end up being the same issue with Byram, who should be fine but probably should not be treated like a #1 D with a $12m contract for a team lacking star player at F.

His +/- on Chicago is brutal. A basic, not very analytical stat, sure, but it points to how awful those teams were

WTF??????

Supposedly #5  pick was also on the table. If all of this is true, then Byram's market was very hot. Would I still make that particular trade for him? No. It's good to know that KD was NOT the only GM being overly aggressive about Byram.

If Buffalo ends up dealing 4 for Knies or Stenberg drops there I’m gonna be furious.

Rumors about Robertson and others are probably smoke but the trade he made does mean Davidson has to be more IN on the present day than ever. You can’t trade for and presumably sign a (we are praying) 1D and then not also try and get better up front. If he’s done stockpiling 1s, then go ahead and deal all three next year for something good. Sign Bedard, Byram and the new guy to big deals and you have your core, with a bunch of cheap talent around them for two years. Figure out who to keep later.

Supposedly Toronto was asking for 4, Frondell+ for Knies. If Buffalo gives up less than that for Knies, then yeah I will be furious.

As for Jason Robertson, SEA was given permission to talk to him and they made an 8 year offer. Robertson turned them down. St. Louis also made an offer and supposedly Robertson won't even consider signing with the Blues.
