I chose the top position players by fWAR, then the top starting pitchers also by fWAR. If there was an outstanding reliever in WPA, I also included them. Relievers don't get enough love, particularly non-closers.

With that said, who is your 2025 first-half MVP?

So it's definitely PCA or Tucker, I don't think anyone else has even a decent argument.  PCA has generated the most raw value, Tucker's close behind and has had oodles of clutch.

I do think Carson Kelly deserves some love though.  Him going Aaron Judge for a month helped this team excel during an extremely difficult part of the schedule.  Even with him coming back to earth he's still been IMO one of the biggest stories for this team.

Boyd has been the starting pitcher MVP. I’m not saying PCA shouldn’t be the answer but where would we be without Matthew?

I voted Boyd.  He's #13 in ERA and he's 1/3 of an inning from being top 30 in innings pitched.  He's gone 6+ in 11/16 starts, only 2 of those 5 since April and one of them was Seattle when he came out because of injury.  He's been an absolute rock in the rotation with Steele and Shota down.

Hot take: Tucker's going to overpass PCA in fWAR by the ASB.

(the correct answer is still PCA)

I'll say PCA since he's been out in CF every day even through the heat wave, and probably had a small lead over Tucker in WAR at the game 81 mark.

Agree with @Bertz, props to Kelly when this team was sizzling through a tough schedule in April.
