OK, with the help of NSBB and it's many fans I want to see how many of the Miller Lite signs we can photograph and display this year. All help is appreciated especially by those people who live in the Chicago area. I'll get us going with Opening Day, which I thought was kind of stupid. Didn't your mother ever tell you not to play with your beer.

on a different 'sign' note, I noticed yesterday that a Wrigley tradition has died. no Torco sign, replace by rooftop bleachers.

The Miller sign is the old Torco sign.

Beat me to it. I actually prefer this over the old Torco sign. It's pretty cool, since they have something new seemingly for every series.

Me and Mark_R will be at the game tomorrow, so if they change the sign I'll be sure to photograph it even though I'll be at a weird angle in the bleachers

I think they change the sign for every home series. We had a thread going in here toward the end of last season. I was trying to compile as many of the old slogans as I could. I hate Miller products, but the signs are great. Lets see if we can get them all this year.

One of my favorites was from a 2003 series against St. Louis (their pen was atrocious all year):

"Hey Cardinals, thirsty for a pitcher?"

All contributions are appreciated and accepted here, thank you.

Lets go over some of the ones I remember from the past since this is the official thread.

"Sorry STL, playoffs not in the Cards" - During the famous 5 game series against St. Louis in September 2003

"WHO-ston? - I think also in 2003

"Keep your eyes on the ball and hands on your beer" - During the Marlins series last September

Lets go over some of the ones I remember from the past since this is the official thread.

When the Yanks were in town: "$160 million could buy a lot of beer"

Posted

Here are some more old ones from the old Miller ad thread

From another Houston series last season: "Everything is bigger in Texas, but everything is better in Wrigley"

And from an Expos game: "Great taste and less filling, even if you use the metric system"

burnt out cubbie fan posted "Who's Your Padre?" (obviously a San Diego series)

Holy Cow posted one from when the A's came to town, "Hey Oakland, you're out of your league!"

Banedon posted for the Milwaukee series: "Hey Milwaukee, thanks for the beer."

sethuel1 posted one from an earlier St. Louis series: "Hey STL, too bad you can't brew wins". And he also posted one from the playoffs, "Spray champagne, drink beer."

Sam Studebaker posted a few old ones from 2003.

Against Milwaukee, "Baseball and beer. No meat races here."

Against the Pirates, "Last call? Not in Wrigleyville."

Cubs vs. Giants (2004), "No controversy here, just great beer."

Cubs vs. Cardinals, "Wrigleyville's Cardinal Rule: Better beer for better fans."

Another Milwaukee series, "Anda' one, anda' two, anda another cold one."

Garwilly posted one from the Marlins series that I'm not a fan of "Eyes on the ball, HANDS on your beer"

And after typing all of those out, I realized I should've just posted a link and let you all go there yourselves. But hey, live and learn...

Hey, maybe you should leave it to me and the great angle that I will have in the dugout box seats. :P

I don't know if it's new, but BCB81 posted a pitcure of the sign from a luxury box during the rainout game in this thread.

A new series started Friday with Pittsburgh. Is there a new sign up yet?

No, still Going Going Gone ... to Get More Beer

They usually just change it for each homestand in the beginning of the season, then step up their game as the season progresses. :)

The Miller Lite sign says "Go Chicago!" most likely to remain neutral. My friend took a picture for NSBB from Sheffield Ave., when he loads it onto his computer I'll post it

For the Blue Jays series it was

DESIGNATE DRIVERS

Not Hitters (I have a pic. of this one I'll get up soon)

For Boston something like

One Curse down

and One to go
