Doesn’t look like we’re gonna gain ground in the wild card tonight. Braves already won and the Mets are unfortunately playing the white Sox this weekend.

So apparently the Pirates are not quite using a 6 man rotation, they're using a six day rotation.  So with the off day yesterday Mitch Keller is pitching Sunday, and during the Cubs series starting Monday it likely goes Jones-Skenes-German.

Like Keller's obviously much less scary than Jones and especially Skenes, but he's a good pitcher while Domingo German is very much not.

The Cubs just won 8 of 10 and gained at least one game on every team ahead of them in the standings. The Braves lost yesterday.

The scoreboard watching doesn't matter unless the Cubs keep winning, and as long as they do they gain a half game on the league every day.

MLB.com and Fangraphs both gave him a 60 for speed tool  He's at least a 70 and maybe a 75.  That's a big whiff.  Shows how much these outlets actually know.  I mean how could they be so off?

Cubs didn't have many good choices.  But yeah Smyly and Thompson in a save situation is a letdown in itself.
