That Merryweather thing from last week, throwing a recently 60 day IL'd guy for a 2nd inning with a rested bullpen with predictable results, was pretty much my last straw. Guy has not shown me a single positive thing I didn't see from Ross. And I think even Ross would've had enough of Neris by now.

The difference is in Milwaukee his moves worked because the FO gave him players that work.  For example he was leaning on Hader over and over and it was working because Hader was handling it.  So that looked brilliant and won games but it would have looked idiotic had it been a different guy who just blew his arm out.

Neris balked on pretty much every pitch that inning before the one they called a balk.  You have to be pretty dumb to be a 35 y/o veteran and keep doing this as part of your routine while everyone has been reminding you constantly all season to stop.

Albert Pujols hit HRs number 699 and 700 in a game that was an Apple exclusive back in 2022, so most of St. Louis didn't even see it. Not that I have any sympathy for those fans because I remember how many of them made a show of trashing their Pujols merch when he signed with the Angels, but one of my friends is a huge Cardinals fan and she and I had talked about whether 700 was a possibility for Albert when the season began. She watched all year waiting for that and then missed it because it was an Apple exclusive game.
