Ballesteros is just a pure hitter.  First at bat pulls a liner to RF for a single.  Second at bat goes the other way, deep line drive for a double.  The LF didn't catch it on the run.  Probably should have been caught but still a good piece of hitting.

Birdsell had a nice performance.  6 IP, no runs.

So assuming that Horton is down for at least a short while, the Iowa rotation is Pannone, Clarke, Straily, and.....?  Hoping they bump up McGowin from Tennessee, he's been a fun story.

Yeah, McGowin seems like a good choice. Riley Thompson going back to the rotation seems like the best candidate for the other rotation spot.
