Have they released any information on Valdez?

Nope. And with it being the restricted list, it might involve something the org doesn’t want to release. Besides, we rarely get news out of the ACL.

Matt Shaw seems to be right again,  which is good news.  Wonder if he made an adjustment or if he was playing through a nagging injury or if it's just variance.

Hoping they help him round out his offensive game and get to his pull power. He hits a ton of batter balls to RF.

Shaw's surge has brought him back up to a 132.

Now I'd like to see Triantos break out of his slump. Since 5/10 he has hit 203/228/230. Mo is also in a little slump, hasn't had an XBH in 2 weeks.

I wonder if we see Shaw to Iowa soon.  The progression the org likes to see is for someone to hit a deep slump and come fully out of it before getting promoted.  It's only been a week for the coming fully out of it but looks like mission accomplished for Matt.

I'm also just generally curious how teams are viewing the Southern League's offensive environment.  They aren't doing the slicked balls anymore so what the hell is the explanation for the deadball era level offense

I think that's just it, a dead ball.  We've heard rumors of it at the MLB level and you know they like to experiment in the minors so I'd bet that's the biggest reason.  Pitchers didn't suddenly become 20-25% better over the winter.

HR rate was way down in the MLB when I last saw the report a couple weeks ago. They need to stop horsefeathers with the ball every damn year.

It's insane that they made the changes to try to open up the offense amid a time where pitchers are unleashing the nastiest pitches ever and then deadened the ball. It's mind-boggling how they can be so stupid.

Is it, though? They seem to do universally stupid things to devalue the game.
