Just as importantly, Derniche didn't strikeout tonight. He's at a 33% K rate early so far after striking out nearly 42% of the time last year in the DSL.

He's just saying he currently places more value (and thinks the org does too) on the in-game power Valdez is showing in rookie ball than on the Ks.
