Justin Turner is still a very solid hitter, but probably has no business at third base at this point.

Jon Morosi tweeted that Turner is a good match for the Cubs and points out that the Brewers (while Counsell was manager there) made a push to sign him following the 2020 season. The Cubs are in need of a third baseman but it requires some squinting to see Turner being a guy you want to trot out to the hot corner every day, or even maybe most days.

Turner seems like a good professional hitter to add if you get a big bat that doesn't have to play DH, but I'm not sure there's a strong contract match for the 39 year old who turned down 13.4 million to get to free agency.

Bingo. I wouldn't mind JT taking the Wisdom role, but not at that price.

I'd be totally cool with him, but only at 1B. Honestly I would expect him to bounce back to the 125 hitter he was in the NL and I give him credit for switching leagues and still posting a respectable 114. I've seen a lot of hitters initially struggle with that change. He has a good approach, still plenty of power, batted ball numbers are good, lots of FBs and LDs. He's a fine alternative to trading for Alonso if you ask me.
