So are there signs that Seiya is making adjustments and is he still doing the things he does well through the slump? He has a sub .600 OPS over his last 27 games after the hot start.

Third in MLB in runs scored the first four innings.

Tied for last place with the Blue Jays for runs scored in the last three innings.

They score, then they stop.

How many runs have they scored total in the first four innings this year? I ask because they scored 26 runs in the first four innings of those three games against Pittsburgh. I know it's not totally fair to just take out three offensive outbursts, but I'm just curious as to what percentage of those runs in the first four innings were in three games. We are still early enough in the season that 3 outlier games can affect the overall numbers. If the runs were evenly distributed in those three games, the Cubs would have only gotten 18 in the first four innings rather than 26.

Runs scored per inning (through 39 games)

1st: 30

2nd: 28

3rd: 17

4th: 24

5th: 15

6th: 7

7th: 16

8th: 12

9th: 7

So they beat up on starters and can’t score in relievers. Could it be a scouting and/or game prep thing?

I assume that most teams have a similar pattern.
