Our board has some weird telekinesis that makes people post game threads at the exact same time as I posted mine right after yours

Simpson with a good start, 5IP, 3H, 1ER

I don’t care what anyone else says. This team has been fun to watch for the last month.

ptr thanks you for your loyalty

I think I can be angered at how the team was put together and pleased by their play at the same time.

If the Cubs go into 2022 with a $75 Million payroll, I certainly won’t be watching any games.

If they go into 2022 with a $125 million payroll you shouldn't watch any games. If it's $150 million, maybe watch opening day. Anything short of a top 5 payroll from this organization is an embarrassment.

If they actually address the needs of the team - get a starting infielder, starting outfielder, a couple real starting pitchers, at least one high leverage reliever, a backup catcher - I’m not going to be particularly concerned whether they spend $80 million or $120 million to do it.

None of that will happen with an $80 payroll.

I meant $80 million more than what they’re already obligated for.

Chirinos with a 2-run bomb in the 8th to tie it up. I know some/many don't want to see these guys win, but I still root for them. Maybe a few draft slots is significant, maybe not. I do like how they've played the last several weeks.

On another note, I know Ross was questioned about having the team ready each day during the long losing streak. Maybe some blame. But also maybe some credit for have them play hard/win some games even against some trash opponents. Would be easy for everyone to mail it in.
