Gotta' figure Wisdom and Ortega have the most to gain from the current situation? Has Wisdom made more money in the last 3 months than has since he was drafted in 2012? Short of some massive implosion they've both likely earned a look from another team if the Cubs were for some reason to release them (not saying that's likely) whereas 6 months ago they both had to be mulling the possibility of never seeing the majors again.

I don’t know how Wisdom is keeping a decently high OPS. Every time I watch him he is striking out and I think his K rate for the season is 44%. But even if you look at his numbers after that initial HR tear, his OPS is .767 which is nothing special but if that’s his “coming back to earth” performance then maybe he does have a future in the bigs. Don’t think he’s an everyday player or anything but he’s worthy of a roster spot on a good team

I remember thinking at one point earlier in the year that there were 3 or 4 guys who might be able to close. Kyle Ryan wasn't one of them.

Was at the game. Not overly exciting the first few innings. Kyle H. was great. Four run inning was fun. Lots of Cubs fan in the stands, just like two weeks ago in Phoenix. Good to see a win…again. 2-0 this season!
