Are we far enough in the season to he concerned about Kyle? I guess he’s the kind of guy where if he can get back into a groove he locks in for a couple of months

He's probably fine? I think he legitimately pitched bad in April, but has basically been himself plus a bunch of extra dongs since. Dongs are notoriously flukey and streaky. There are two things that give me a little pause though. First, because he's such a velocity outlier, the "rules" don't necessarily apply to him. Second, he's gotten less swing and miss in the zone than he normally does, even as he's pitched better since that Braves start. I wonder if that's a canary in the coalmine for a legitimate issue.

I said this a few days ago, but given his age I'm probably going to buy into Alcantara pretty quick. His issue prior to this year was that he had zero power, it's looking increasingly like that's no longer the case. If he's got even adequate pop he does everything else enough that he's probably on the borderline of being a starter.

I might try to make Serg!o a thing.

I just figured out this is AJ Pierzynski. And now I hate this broadcast team even more.

I actually think AJ is doing a good job *shrug*

If he and Wisdom are even sort of real, this offseason becomes much less scary. This would be our lineup going into the offseason:

C - Willson

1B - Wisdom

2B - Sergio

SS - Hoerner

3B - Bote

LF - ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

CF - Happ

RF - Heyward

Is that good? Horsefeathers no. But with ~$100M to spend this offseason, that's a solid enough base before you open up the checkbook. Especially since Iowa will likely have four real prospects in Davis, Amaya, Strumpf, and Morel.

He's meh to OK but he also spent about 5 minutes saying essentially "Joc changed teams for the first time this offseason and it takes a bit to adjust". Drives me nuts when guys overtalk.

Davis ripping up AA the rest of the year would make me feel a lot better about things.

Nah. He's fine.

Goldschmidt looks to be settling nicely into the decline phase of his career. Cardinals have him for 3 more years after this at $22m a year.

At least they're not fapping over the Cardinals like you'd normally hear. They're actually pointing out some difficult issues that team has.

check out his game log, he's been mostly himself for a while now

Now 7-1 with a 3.12 ERA in 52 innings over his last 8 starts.
