This Bulls team has an 04-05 vibe. No true star, a lot of young lottery picks, well coached, plucky underdog that rises about its weight to compete against seemingly better teams. They also seem to enjoy playing together.

I went to bed with them down 20 early in the second quarter. Very surprised they pulled that W out. I’m used to the team packing it in when down big on the road.

 

That said, it’s gonna be tough to make the playoffs this year. Philly, Indy, Boston, Milwaukee, Atlanta, Brooklyn, and Miami are near-locks. Then you’re battling with Orlando, New York, and Cleveland for the last spot. None of those teams are great, obviously, but they aren’t the crap teams we are used to. Either way it’s great to see we’re on the right track with competent people in charge on and off the court.

Well horsefeathers, Patrick Williams just might be the best player in this class.

 

Am I crazy if I see a more polished version of Jimmy Butler when he came into the league? I also don't think Lauri is a good fit with this team. He either needs to hit open 3s or be able to be a small ball 5, and it doesn't look like he can do either.

Decoy to who? Bunch of bums out there. And I don’t necessarily disagree, but he’s shooting 50% this year in the final minute with the lead 5 points or less.
