Castillo is a horsefeathering stud. Hopefully he's a bit off, allowing the Cubs offense to make him throw a ton of pitches & get him out of the game by the 6th inning or so.

He can be retroactively IL’ed right?

Yeah, but the dumb part is how regardless of that they've basically just been carrying a dead weight roster spot on a beat up team with a guy who can't even PH.

Going to love when Rizzo comes back tomorrow and dongs throughout the weekend so that you ninnies can shut the horsefeathers up about not having some scrub up to replace him for four games when our active roster still has a scrub like Mark whatever his last name is on it.

"Zagnudies is wasting a spot, therefore it is also sensible that an injured player who can't even pick up a bat is also wasting a spot. NINNIES."

I’m fine handling a star player like this and not IL’ing him for ~10 days if it truly only is a 2-4 day thing. But I have my doubts the staff is handling this injury properly, they have no track record to believe it’s this short a thing and I’m worried this is a lingering thing that he sucks for 2-3 weeks trying to play through it after he comes back then is finally IL’d and we essentially lose him for a month vs just making sure it’s 100% taken care of with a 10 day trip right now.

Pretty much.

Who the hell did you want up here for five days so bad? Ian Happ, who is slugging .380 in a juiced ball Triple A? Dillon Maples to throw a meaningless inning?

It's not that big of a deal, especially when they clearly don't even utilize all 25 guys on the roster as it is. See, Zasusus, Mark.

Yes, I would have preferred someone who, if need be, could actually contribute, however unremarkably, in some way, shape or form to a baseball game being played.

I think you are overreacting to something that happens twice a year to Rizzo for basically his entire career. It's back spams. They need a few days to go away, and he comes back. He knows exactly what it is and the timetable based on every other single instance in which it has happened.

I don't believe he struggles every time he comes back from this for two to three weeks. It's fine. We aren't losing him for any extended period. My bet is he's back tomorrow. If he's still not back by Saturday or Sunday feel free to @ me.

The Cubs are 2-1 without Rizzo and one plate appearance from Ian Happ.

Calm down, Ninny.

In one sentence you recognize this a known issue (and as such, you would think you also remember how the Cubs have arguably mishandled it), and then immediately flip around to just out of nowhere assuring everyone it's all going to work out within 24 hours. Y'know, because it will simply work out just because because they've won 2 of 3.

Happ is with the big league team in Cincy?

The distilled choice is basically: would you rather have one less bench player for ~5 games, or be without a ready-to-play Rizzo for ~5 games?

you're assuming he'll be ready tomorrow and not rotting at the bottom of the Ohio River
