The Mariners are nearing a deal to acquire veteran slugger Edwin Encarnacion, according to Jon Heyman of Fancred (Twitter links). Fellow high-end hitter Carlos Santana will go to the Indians in the deal, if completed, the details of which remain unknown.

Well that's interesting.

Confused why the Indians make this trade. On the surface they have basically the same exact contract and their production in 2018 was pretty even. Santana is 3 years younger though so maybe they are trying to avoid relying on a 35 year old slugger.

Corbin got $150 million, McCutchen $50, and Lance Lynn $30. I'm finding a hard time buying in to collusion right now.

If the deal is completed, there’ll be more to it than that. Corner infielder Yandy Diaz is going to the Rays, who’ll send first baseman Jake Bauers to the Indians, per Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times (via Twitter). There’s a competitive balance pick involved, which will land in Seattle, per Joel Sherman of the New York Post (Twitter link).

We waiting until the decent players are gone to go dumpster diving.

Every time I see one of your posts this offseason, I feel that I should really look into a downvoting system.

Seems like you’re generic LOOGY. Kills lefties and righties kill him and he only averages mid 80s on his FB.

Both teams have been in Milwaukee at one point. Easy mistake.
