Maybe? He’s kinda Morrowish in his journey

I've been wondering if they'd do this.

 

Quite a journey he's had. Once a top 50 prospect, traded to the Red Sox as part of that insane Crawford/Gonzalez/Beckett deal. Fell apart, pitched in Korea, now pitching mostly out of relief, he's regularly in the mid-90s.

I’m willing to feign optimism for a power arm in a reduced role with no surgeries under its belt that was once a serious SP candidate. I guess I can buy that generally speaking there are some similarities to Morrow. OTOH Morrow was a pretty badass ML SP once or twice rather than just a good prospect and was also a higher profile prospect.

 

I do think the process is awesome - higher profile ultra cheap pickups who didn’t bust due to injury. Keep in mind this is the same general FO that turned Andrew Miller’s career around off the scrap heap AND eventually got Eduardo Rodriguez when it came time to trade Miller.
