Agree. Skip him, hope a few days extra rest gets him righted a little to at least be a ~4 era pitcher. Bullpen it with Chavez/De LaRosa, call up underwood, etc

So, is this it for Lester? 31 or more starts every year since 2008, with 20 more playoff starts (and 2 relief appearances). 34 isn't ancient, but it's conceivable that that arm is pretty close to being done.

 

He's not done per se, but it's pretty safe to say he's no longer an ace or TOR arm.

 

We also shouldn't expect a Verlander-type bounceback or sudden increase in velocity/spin rate even if he changes his diet/workout regimen/offseason training/etc.

In his past 9 starts Lester’s ERA has gone from 2.10 to 3.89 and I have to admit that seems low
