haven't paid to close attention to the AL... do the Astros have enough pitching to contend with the Dodgers?

Did the Indians have enough to take the Cubs to 7 games last year (let alone get there)?

It's the MLB playoffs. Of course they can.

And yeah, I mean, to answer your question, they have Verlander, Keuchel, McCullers, and Morton, which is very not bad.

So the yanks faced a wildcard game and then two 102+ win teams and never lost a game at home. I enjoyed our layoff from yankee relevence, but it appears that they'll be annoying again from this point forward.

But for now theyre gone. Congrats, Astros. Please beat the Dodgers. Go Stros!

Go Astros.

#NeverDodgers

Team who clinched their LCS series first has lost the last eight World Series (last one to win was the 08 Phillies). Hopefully that continues.

He’s 34 and signed for 3/$80m after this season. Pass.

he has two years beyond this year and would be really nice to have. i rescind your pass.

he had a vesting option for 2020 which was based on finishing high in the cy race which he had waived in order to approve the trade.

and the guy that wanted to be here (maybe) but Theo wouldn't pull the trigger on is the ALCS MVP

i'm not sure if it was theo's willingness to pull the trigger as much as it was the ability to beat the astros without dealing from the MLB roster.

Plus the Tigers are paying $8 million each year, so Houston is only on the hook for 2 years and $40 million.

That said, I'm sure the Astros offer was more attractive than anything the Cubs realistically could have put together, but I don't actually know that.

Ah I didn’t realize that 2020 was a Cy option. That does make the contract more attractive.
