The NL Central in GIF form this year, the Cubs are the branch and the rest of the division is the fellow on the ladder. The Brewers and Cardinals poked and hacked all year and we slowly moved, then we got some momentum and sent them away as they couldn’t get out of the way.

I didn't like the idea of trading a position player with his talent/minor league track record and the control he had left for an injured closer on one year, but it obviously turned out extreme best case.

I’m on the record for Jake (if he’s healthy), Quintana, Hendricks and Lester 1 through 4. Hendricks, Q, Jake, Lester 1-4 if Jake isn’t 100%. Whatever they end up doing I feel confident it is the best move given what they know and the numbers tell them.

I didn't like the idea of trading a position player with his talent/minor league track record and the control he had left for an injured closer on one year, but it obviously turned out extreme best case.

I felt the same way for the same reasons, but qualified liking it if they liked the medicals. Basically when the FO makes a move going forward I trust they have a solid foundation of facts and info for making a decision.
