Couple weeks ago we scored 13 and 9 in consecutive wins against the Reds but that was definitely an outlier for this season

This team would be completely fine if Willson Contreras didnt exist*, and he was the most valuable player on the team from opening day right up until he got hurt. (In my opinion)

 

No real point to that except to point out what an amazing job theo/hoyer did in acquiring Avila and Rivera midseason when we werent the only team looking for catching, and catcher is such a difficult position to fill midseason.

i listened to the start of this game on the radio, and Pat had the night off. Grote was doing play-by-play and Coomer was doing color, and it was perfectly fine. they should stick with this arrangement in the 5th inning.
