Trying to chase and get a fictious, fairy tale win and putting your team in a spot with upped chances to lose a potential real, meaningful win is so horsefeathering dumb and bad managing

It's awful and frustrating, but you almost have to do it. Wins are really important to pitchers still. Like, really important.

Again though, it's not like he was at 120, and now we're going to have to use an annoying amount of relievers in a comfortable win. I dont think that was all about Lester's stats.

Big Z homers were the best.

It really is awesome he's got this job now; it always bummed me out that he was just suddenly gone from baseball.

I continue to be amazed that the new grassy plaza area isn’t more congested

It's going to be real annoying when they don't put the playoff games on the screen.

Lou dumbly moving him to the pen killed his career.

Got a tough little stretch of games the next couple weeks or so (even though the Giants suck, weird stuff happens out west) so hopefully we can maintain good baseball playing.

weird stuff certainly does happen out west

(You can't blame me for finding every possible opportunity to post 2016 playoff highlights)

theo looks like he's about to pass out after the zobrist double

God that game and whole video and the playoffs and horsefeathering everything 2016 is just awesome.

Must say makes me miss Chapman a bit too. I know hes probably a crappy human and Wade might be even better but something about adding him to that juggernaut and hitting that 103 is just magical and intimidating.

Not usually into mythical stuff but him at the end of the game there had me thinking of Daenrys Dragons in Game of Thrones. Daernys is probably formidable enough on her own like the 2016 Cubs.. but then she gets horsefeathering dragons and thats what Chapman was to the Cubs. Our fuckin caged dragon.

I can’t believe he’s still only 36

Yeah, it's crazy. I also kind of assumed he'd get crazy fat after he retired, but he's looking good.

Prior is also just 36. What the fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck.

Can he trade spots with Lackey?

Ugh, I completely forgot about that. Lou really lost it in 2010.

Is there a single greater moment in the history of baseball than Z taking off his belt to whoop some ass?

i completely forgot about that, so now i'm watching the video. it's still so weird to see lee throw the punch out of nowhere. he must have had something else bothering him that day.

I think the Cubs playing like ass during the first half then turning into the Super Cubs is more enjoyable than if they'd just been Super Cubs all season. Makes me appreciate regular season baseball again before the terror or playoff baseball takes over.

I loved him snapping bats in half over his knee. Just the thought of a pitcher doing that because of being mad at his hitting still cracks me up.

With Russell on a rookie scale and after accounting for child support and alimony, if the Cubs made him pay for every bat that went into the stands, would he be below the poverty line?
