17-year-old LHP Jonathan Bruzual (the Cubs most highly touted prospect from the weak "penalty" class last year) put up a good line today.

5 IP, 2 H, 1 R (earned), 2 BB, 7 Ks.

I wonder if there's a more badass MiL duo out there than Bichette and Guerrero Jr? Good on Cease, impress the Blue Jays please!

I don't think so. Those 2 both belong in the top 10 hitters in the minors with other guys like Kyle Tucker,Rodgers,Juan Soto,Eloy, etc.

Rucker with the worst outing of his season. 5 8 6 5 1 2. Gave up a 3 run homer with 2 outs in the 5th. He's at 85 pitches, I'm guessing he's done.

Cease was the story. Struck out Vlad Jr and Bichette on 7 pitches.

Started reading more headlines on milb.com and they have articles for Dewees and Villenueva so I checked out their stats.

Dewees has struck out in just 12% of his 300 PA (110 wRC+) in AA and Villenueva has found some power at El Paso (granted, hitters haven) with 15 HR in 200 PA and 7 in his last 10 games.

I know, random. I like to see what former Cubs are up to.

In former Cub news, Paul Blackburn is making his major league debut for Oakland right now. Don't remember how Oakland got him from Seattle, but if there's anyone who doesn't remember, he was part of the Montgomery deal.

Seattle traded him to Oakland for D. Valencia straight up. I was surprised how little Oakland got for Valencia, but hey Blackburn is making his debut today so he has some value.
