let’s all calm down now. they won once. science has proven they cannot do it again

but if they were going to do it, it should happen when the overachieving team from Ohio’s butthole sends out this guy to throw baseballs:

my rough math says they should actually be 11-66, roughly 1 full game worse than the cubs so Vegas says this is a coin flip. I would advise you to call tails

google tells me this is how the cubs are responding

[spoil]you will not recognize more than 2 names in the cubs lineup[/spoil]

I'll be there fat-catting it up in the club seats, so blame me if we lose, give me credit if this game turns the season around.

In Ohio I assume that "fat-catting" means something literally involving fat cats.

OH MY GOD, THE SECRET INGREDIENT OF SKYLINE CHILI IS FAT CAT.

"Victor Caratini" is never not going to sound like a Mafia character from GTA.

I actually look forward to Montgomery starts more than anything these days. Jon is still a stud, but I know that. Monty might be the key to our season, though. If he can keep pitching like he has since being moved to the rotation, that alleviates a lot of concerns we have moving forward.

I just hate how much we're now relying on a pitcher whose career high in innings is 155.1 (and that was in 2015).

Yeah, I meant more for 2018 and beyond. But that is an issue right now, among many others. Hopefully Hendricks will come back and be fine, and we can trade for someone else, and we won't have to rely on him as much this year.

Right now, the rotation is in sad shape, though. And Monty is definitely our second-best starter. Lackey's got to go. And Butler sucks, too. But maybe with Hendricks + an addition, we could get rid of Lackey and have Anderson/Butler fill in for Monty to keep his innings down.

It's almost like this offense is 29th in the league in batting average this year.

The gigantic meatball side of me can't help but feel baffled when posters here say very smart things that make it seem like the offense is turning around, or is just THIS close to breaking out, when the bats repeatedly just look like absolute horsefeathers.

April and June they hit 250 but they hit 215 in May and pretty much sunk the season line to depths very hard to climb out of.

If they hit 250 all year they're right around the middle of the pack.
