Positive note.....Burks with a HR and walk in his first 2 PA tonight.

Does he have any sort of trade value? Even if it's him and something like Zagunis for a Monty type pitcher?

He SHOULD. But who knows? Longenhagen just said yesterday he's a bench bat. I'm a bit skeptical that he's seen or heard much on him so far this season. The kid put on some muscle and is OPSing around .875 in AA as a 22 year old.....That's got to raise some serious eyebrows.....

The REAL problem though, is who IS the Montgomery this year?

Theo knows. None of us knew last year before the trade.

I believe C. Burks is viewed as a legit prospect and has some trade value. I saw the note Longenhagen wrote on Burks as well.

I mean as the the main piece in a trade for a SP? Lol, no way. But as the third piece or fourth piece in a package -- absolutely. I mean we sent R. Crawford out in the A. Chapman trade and I like C. Burks WAY more than I ever like R. Crawford as a prospect. He's age appropriate and showing increased power. Decent athlete. I believe other teams know who he is and some of those teams must value him.

Of course he's worth something. Future major leaguers have value. I think theres potentiallya huge discrepancy in where Longenhagen says hes at, versus where teams may say hes at. Conceivably, I'd be surprised if him and Zagunis don't EACH have more value than what Vogelbach and Blackburn do together.

That said, the Monty deal(who we had talked about last year as a bullpen addition) seems like the perfect situation aligning. I really, really would love to find another move like that, I just doubt its out there again.

Hatch didn't get out of the 1st.

Fun couple days in Cubville...

I just want Albertos and Marquez to stay healthy and log innings. They're results are secondary for methis season.

Footage of the doubles

On Ademan's double, why is his apparent teammate standing about 5 feet from second base when he gets there??? :-k

Lol, no idea man.

Good to see how Ademan and Amaya are doing at the dish.

I also got a laugh at the box score saying Ademan has made his 7th error already (this is the 14th game). Error totals are pretty much meaningless in the minors and especially at the lower levels (and especially for 18-year-old shortstops), but that's quite a pace haha.

But seriously that looks like a really fun group. Also glad to see Charcer Burks keeps doing his thing at Double-A.

Austin Upshaw, our 13th Rounder(100k bonus) made his debut tonight for Arizona at 2B and hit 2 homers. On his 21st birthday. Pretty cool.

Edit- horsefeathers, I'm off by a month. Not his horsefeathering birthday lol. I'll bet he's still getting drunk though, after that debut.

He pulled a Jake Opitz! (That's a name I haven't heard in a long time. A long time.)

Edit: After checking, it wasn't even an Opitz. Opitz homered once in each of his first 2 pro games. Upshaw outdid him.
