I thought one of the big selling points on Davis was that he wasn't like Aroldis and didn't mind pitching 4+ out save opportunities

Davis would've had to hit, or TLS would've had to come in to play defense. Maddon really should've left Zagunis in.

watching Maddon manage circles around Dusty is really, really cathartic

Not a fan of how the 8th was managed, but it worked out.

My problem was pulling Uehara for Duensing.

It is nice to see Grimm has earned that much trust.

I'm pretty shocked by it. Grimm was a hot mess early in the year. I know he's done this before, but I had a hard time believing he was going to bounce back like this.

Question. When Rizzo is at two strikes, it seems like he can go oppo anytime he wants. Why not do that all the time to make them no longer shift? Or is this stupid by me?

He should be able to do it a lot more often IMO

Nice, Ian!

Teams will shift Rizzo forever if it means the worst case scenario for them is a single(maybe a double if placed perfectly).

my dad would always tell me about games like this from the classic 2016 season where the Cubs would screw the closer.

That's true. I'd take that when he's leading off a game, though.
