Yeah take Butler out because of a bad play by Bryant

I think Joe begins every Butler start ready to pull him at the first real sign of trouble whether its the 3rd or the 7th inning.

Butler wasn't exactly great himself. also he was over 90 pitches so it shouldn't be a huge controversy

Those are good points and he did look like his usual ugly somehow effective self...

I watch games on DIRECTV Extra Innings. I think I likely get different commercials because this year I no longer get any local Chicago commercials and the formatting of the screen is all messsed up. Anyway, every commercial is a PSA about kids dying, people overdosing, homeless/injured veterans, etc. It really makes watching the games quite depressing.

?

He has a 4.19 ERA, and if the Cubs hold on here, they'd be 5-3 in games started by Butler. I think his description is apt.

Duensing reminds me of when we had James Russell and he was good/getting results. His numbers were fine but watching him pitch always made me anxious with a feeling that he wasn't as good as the numbers show.

We have a great bullpen but I'm concerned that they will be overworked by the playoffs. Too many sub 5 inning stars

11th in bullpen innings going into today. A bit of a concern, but we seem to lean on different guys for stretches and are pretty deep overall, so hopefully no one hits a wall.

Flip side of that is Washington, who has 12 less bullpen innings than any other team. Dusty gonna Dusty.

That's not too bad. I was looking at Quality starts when I posted that, where we are 25th in the league.
