Have seen a few rumblings over the last day the Fish may trade off Yelich, Ozuna, and/or Realmuto. With their impending sale, getting rid of salary supposedly is going to raise the franchise value. I guess I can see both sides of that, I'd rather keep the good, young players personally. But, that's not the point. The point is there may be some very solid players on the market with team control......

So, what can we try and grab from them, if they do this?

I'm in love with trading for pick 36 in the draft that's less than two weeks away. I've brought it up before, they don't typically spend big money on draft/IFA's. If we could send them a package of minor leaguers, I'd love to do it. But, maybe they value the pick more, if they're going full rebuild.

Stanton? Forget it. Stupid allocation of money.

Volquez? 1/13 on his deal after this year. He's not IDEAL for our main pitching addition but he's a nice guy to have in tow for next year. Depending on cost, I'm interested.

Dee Gordon? Pass. 3/37 up to 4/51 left on his deal. Don't see value.

Ziegler? He's sucked this year and has 9 mill left next year too.

AJ Ramos? He's not been good this year, but he's got a year of control left. I'd pass, I think. No need currently anyway.

Ozuna? He's making 3.5 this year and has 2 years of control left.....Don't really see a fit though on a corner for us and he's bad in CF.

Yelich? Yeah, I'm super intrigued. He's playing a pretty solid CF, he gets on base, has some pop, and is under contract for up to 5/58.25. Theo has kind of implied not to expect any offensive additions, but I doubt that comment was made, if he knew Yelich was out there.....

Realmuto? Nice player, but no need for us.

I'd guess the rest of their guys are too cheap for them to move, or not needed by us anyway.

Still, any interest in Yelich, Volquez, or any of the rest of this group?

Yelich would definitely be interesting, but I just can't see us using our assets on hitting instead of pitching.

But, if there aren't many long term guys getting moved(Gray seems like the ONLY one that does to me), do you go after Yelich and Volquez? Or save up for the off season, to try again on whatever pitching is there?

If you can for some reason get a bargain price on Ozuna or Yelich, then go for it. But there are going to be teams out there with a much more pressing need at the position than us. They're likely to be willing to pay more as a result.

I don't like any of the Marlins pitching. Don't trust Volquez at all.

None of the Marlins players themselves seem like a great fit, but the outfielders could potentially be useful in a 3 team deal if a trade partner wants established MLB guys headlining a trade for a SP.

Yelich, Caritini, Zastryzny, and some other filler to the Jays, Stroman to the Cubs and Cease, Jeimer, and some other stuff to the Marlins. Do it.

Mega trade cubs get Yelich, Gray and Doolittle. Cubs give up....a lot.

Put yourself in the Marlins' disgusting shoes. What would it take for you to give up Yelich (on a team-friendly deal through 2022)?

I wouldn't even feel good about it for two Eloys.
